There have been fewer train faults on average in each of the last three months since May when the trains were hit by the highest number of faults this year.
In a statement on Friday, a Joint Team formed by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and SMRT said an average of 40 trains were withdrawn from service each month from June to August, compared to 80 withdrawals in May.
There were also some 80 train withdrawals on the North-South and East-West Lines in April, and about 50 each month from January to March this year.
The Joint Team also announced that speed restrictions along floating slab tracks have been fully lifted as of today.

What to do after 10years of cost cutting aka corner cutting measures by that FT butch. Making SMRT from world class to 3rd world class any improvements is considered an achievement :(
