Casinos exempted from smoking ban: Why the double standard?

STOMPer Kelissa wonders why the two casinos at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) have been exempted from the smoking ban.

The STOMPer feels that NEA is practising double standards by allowing smoking within casino premises, even though it is banned in most enclosed places in Singapore.

Kelissa says:

"I was surprised to see a designated smoking area at the RWS casino when I went there last week.

"Apparently the casinos, including the one at the soon to be opened Marina Bay Sands, are excluded from the ban.

"It seems like they are practising double standards.

"How is it that smoking is banned in most enclosed places in Singapore, but not at the casinos?

"I just don't think this smoking ban is being implemented fairly.

"What about non-smokers who frequent casinos like me? You mean our health and lives don't matter?"

People who smoke are dependant wimps n sissys.

They have inferiority complexes and need something to feel good about themselves. I know coz I smoked 17 yrs before quitting 5 years back, cold turkey.

I think once you've reached the stage of mature, independant thinking, you will quit without effort. It's not hard. Just take it one day at a time.

I can guarantee you something, you will not regret quitting.

Be a real man.
