Whampoa MP Dick Heng Chee How talks like gangster in Parliament

Slyvia Lim had observed that headline figures in GDP growth mask the harsh realities for certain groups of people. She cited Singapore's low fertility rate as an example of a policy the Singapore government would approach differently if it were more concerned about happiness.

ST reported: (Dick)head Heng challenged her to come up with ideas to help Singaporeans to achieve happiness.

What a jerk - instead of outlining policies and highlighting aspects of government policies which have made Singaporeans happy, he talks like some 3rd class gangster in asking for ideas. Ministers get paid millions and want opposition MPs to give solutions. How about asking PAP MPs for starters? Does the government listen? His immediate reaction is a strong indication that things have not changed, and these lap-dogs will continue to defend their masters to ensure that they get chosen again in 2016.

But this dick got 66% in his constituency leh. We'd voted for the opposition and were very angry when we later learned that he still got 66%. WTF is wrong with those Whampoa residents? I also remembered that just before the election, the PAPies mentioned that the upgrading of the Whampoa river and its surrounding areas cannot proceed if the opposition will win the constituency. Fucking cheapo threats as usual, by the fucking ruling party.

For a very long time ever since we first have opposition in Parliament, all these PAPer tigers have repeatedly challenged the opposition to come up with ideas on how to govern better whenever they are being criticised for their shortcomings. We've heard it all before. The job of the elected government is to govern (effectively) while the opposition is there to check and balance them for any excesses, missteps, abuses etc. Asking them for ideas just to spite them or to avoid meaningful debate is inherently low-class politicking and decidedly third-world standard.

the pap mps are all trying to live up to pinky's hint of "fixing the opposition". they wanna embarrass them to make them look clueless about the problems and the solutions. then they would highlight themselves on the problems and the solutions which is very simple: voters get to pay again without any other alternative or even a whimper of protest. :(
