What nation ranks number 1 for having the world's most unhappy people? Well, if you think the answer would be: North Korea, Somalia or Iran then you would be mistaken. Singapore is considered to be saddest place on earth, according to a global Gallup poll.
The Daily Telegraph of London reports that, "the world’s happiest people are in Latin America and those living in Singapore are the most unhappy, a poll of 150,000 people around the globe has found."
Pollsters for Gallup Inc. ask approximately 1,000 people in each of 148 countries last year if they felt well-rested, were treated with respect, smiled or laughed often, did something interesting and felt feelings of enjoyment.
According to the Telegraph, "the people least likely to report positive emotions lived in Singapore, the wealthy and orderly city-state that ranks among the most developed in the world. Other wealthy countries also sat surprisingly low on the list. Germany and France tied with the poor African state of Somaliland for 47[SUP]th[/SUP] place."

S'poreans are the least positive: poll
By Alvina Soh | Posted: 20 December 2012 2218 hrs

SINGAPORE: A Gallup poll said Singaporeans are the least positive, after the same poll found Singaporeans to be the world's most emotionless people.

Last year, international pollster Gallup measured positive emotions of 1000 people in 148 countries and areas using five questions.

They asked people questions such as whether they experienced a lot of enjoyment the day before the survey, whether they felt respected, well-rested, laughed and smiled a lot, and did or learned something interesting.

Singapore topped the list of countries where the fewest adults experienced positive emotions.

The poll found Singaporeans to be less positive than those in Iraq, Yemen and Afghanistan.

Singaporeans rank fifth in the world in terms of GDP per capita.

Latin Americans are the most positive people in the world, with residents in Panama and Paraguay among the most likely to report experiencing positive emotions.

Residents of Panama rank 90th in the world with respect to GDP per capita.

Gallup says these data may surprise analysts and leaders who solely focus on traditional economic indicators.

LHL: How can Singaporeans be unhappy? Look at the people around me, they're so happy to see me play mahjong.

You can't blame the government for the Sinkie Psyche. Singaporeans inflict 99% of their misery upon themselves without the government ever getting involved.

For sure some retards will suggest unhappy Sinkies can move to Somalia or Paraquay.

Happiness/unhappiness is not a measure of what you have/have not. Your grandmother would have told you the wealthiest are not the happiest.
Unhappiness is a measure of what you lost, ie. what you used to have, and no longer have. Hence if you are from Somalia and have never had a decent meal, you would have been pleased with a pack of economy rice.

By that measure it is understandable why Sinkies rank close to 154th in world happiness. They suffered the greatest lost over the last decade compared to rest of world, from 1st world nice and green and wealthy with stable jobs... to a packed sardine country where MRT breaks down, buses kill people, FTs take their job, costs escalate beyond reason, homeland sold to anyone who has cash including war criminals and money launderers... and a govt which suggest they should grow old and die outside their country.

This is the truest statement of all in this matter.

Inviting unhappiness with open arms and dripping saliva is the distinguishing hallmark of a huge portion of SINKIES within the 60.1%.

Happily, or unhappily, depending whether one can lastingly benefit from it or not, nothing can be done about that.

Even God wouldn't be willing to intervene if they in their utter stupidity bring it upon themselves.

You can't blame the government for the Sinkie Psyche. Singaporeans inflict 99% of their misery upon themselves without the government ever getting involved.

But those numerous morons in the 60.1% served it to them on a platter.

They are not called "Sinkies" for no reason.

How would you expect S'poreans to be happy when the entire

country belongs to only 1 FAMILEE.

Malaysia 8th Happiest right among the tops

The survey that involved 100 countries, Malaysia had overtaken developed countries like the United States, Canada and Japan.

USA are in 23rd spot, Canada (24), Japan (34) and South Korea (38).

How on earth can selling one's soul to the Devil to embrace lies, dishonesty and hypocrisy be a cause of real happiness?

Human pleasure is not to be equated with happiness in a stricly moral sense. There is a human element in humanity itself.

For sure it debunk the notion that economy success is positively correlated to happiness
