Brazilian groom's shooting rampage

A GROOM shot dead his new wife and best man at his wedding reception before killing himself in Rio de Janiero.
Brazilian police were combing through security surveillance footage on Tuesday to try and determine why 29-year-old sales manager Rogerio Damascena committed the murder-suicide on Saturday in Camaragibe, in northeast Brazil, Globo.com reported.
Damascena had given no indication anything was wrong, witnesses said, until he went to his father's truck, where he had hidden a gun. He then announced to terrified guests that he had a "surprise for them."
He shot dead his wife Renata Alexandre Costa Coelho - a 25-year-old lawyer - and his best man Marcelo Guimaraes.
The bride's brother was also hurt. He was treated at the hospital and has since been discharged.
"My sister was a wonderful person who loved and wanted to be loved,' Lucia Helena Coelho, the sister of the bride, told the paper.

"He was happy, she was happy, the party was beautiful," she said. "His family adored her and doesn't understand this. He revealed himself as a sociopath who fooled the entire family and killed his best friend, who was... the best man," she said.
Police said they have asked the wedding venue for footage from its security cameras. They said that it was too early to talk about the motivation for the crime, although they believe it was premeditated because of the gun hidden in the truck.
