joe , gifu is a nice place . kyoto is also very beautiful place . there also have clean and beautiful snow . another place i would recommend is nagano i always snowboard there with my friends during winter ..about 2 hours drive from tokyo . the snow there in the mountain is awesome ...its like powder . if your wife want to see snow she should skip tokyo .
