Wealthy foreigners caught in sex sting
Shanghai Daily, October 25, 2013
Police raided a bar that "trapped" wealthy foreigners through providing VIP rooms and offering sexual services, before presenting them with huge bills.
Officers said 30 people were detained in the operation at Ziyun Road in Changning District.
According to police, customers would be ushered into VIP rooms on the second floor, where sex services as well as drinks were on offer.
Afterwards, they were given enormous bills, and those who protested were threatened by staff.
One suspect, surnamed Pan, said they targeted foreigners in four or five-star hotels, leading them into the bar and setting up traps.
The bar brought in more than 600,000 yuan (US$98,565) within two weeks of opening, said police.
It was raided last month.
