Shin Min Daily News reported[/URL] that about 420 families were affected for nearly five hours without water yesterday (1 Aug). Arrangements were made to deliver water to the residents using the water tap at the void deck, but they had to carry buckets of water to their flats.

The incident occurred at about 3.30pm in Block 180C Marsiling Road. The newspaper said that when it reached the HDB Block on receiving a tip-off, it saw many residents at had flocked at the void deck to carry water back to their flats.

It said that every one in the queue had at least one or two buckets. Some families even brought out a trolley to carry several buckets of water back to their apartments it said.

this is great. sinkies have taken potable water for granted. it's high time they are subjected to a cut off to get prepared for the day when there's a shortage of clean water. they should repeat this exercise in every hdb estate.

We ahould do this more often, to promote neighbourliness and the kampung spirit.
