SINGAPORE: A warehouse coordinator was sentenced to jail on Thursday for plotting with a colleague to steal almost S$1 million worth of plastic resin from their employer.
36-year-old Chai Kim Fatt was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison on Thursday.
He admitted to theft of 20 containers of plastic resin between April and May this year when he was working at CWT Logistics.
Chai and co-accused, 29-year-old Lim Choon Ngee agreed on a plan to steal the goods from the warehouse.
The arrangement between the two Malaysians was for Lim to steal the plastic resin and for Chai to turn a blind eye to the theft.
Chai was promised S$20,000 for his assistance but did not receive the money from Lim.
Court documents show that Lim is currently at large. - CNA/fa
