【星島日報報道】大口環根德公爵夫人兒童醫院一名61歲男病人接受左腳的膝關節置換手術時，醫生發現向生產商訂購的膝關節組件竟屬於右腳，而非左腳，惟醫生臨牀判斷認為相關差異於可接受範圍，於是繼續進行手術。院方發言人表示，今次事件不屬於醫療風險警示事件，但會入調查訂購人工假體程序。

事發在本月26日，大口環根德公爵夫人兒童醫院一名骨科醫生，為一名61歲男病人進行左邊人工關節置換手術時，發現向生產商訂購的膝關節組件屬於右腳，而不是左腳。惟涉事醫生竟「將錯就錯」，繼續進行手術，將屬於右腳的假體置入病人左腳。

防方發言人表示，醫生臨牀判斷認為，假體左右差異屬於可接受範圍，不會影響膝功能，因此決定繼續進行手術。手術最終順利完成，病人膝關節功能檢測正常。發言人指出，醫生在手術後向病人講解事件，病人滿意解釋，其復康進度理想，於手術兩日後出院。

發言人強調，今次不屬於醫療風險警示事件，但會深入調查訂購人工假體程序，避免發生同類情況，並就安排器具不周，向病人致歉。

[Sing Tao Daily reported] When a 61-year-old male patient at the Duchess Children's Hospital at the Central Hospital in Gonzag received a knee replacement surgery on his left foot, the doctor found that the knee joints ordered from the manufacturer actually belonged to the right foot, not the left foot. The doctor’s clinical judgment considered that the relevant difference was within the acceptable range, and continued surgery. A hospital spokesperson stated that this incident is not a medical risk warning incident but will be investigated and ordered for artificial prosthesis procedures.

The incident occurred on the 26th of this month when an orthopaedic surgeon at the Duchess Children's Hospital of the Gyantse De Gaulle performed a left-side artificial joint replacement surgery for a 61-year-old male patient and found that the knee joint component ordered from the manufacturer belonged to the right foot.
