The PAP has run a one-party regime for 65 years. The issue is not about whether an oppo 'dud' will improve livelihoods, but about voting strategically to deny the PAP a 2/3 majority in the parliament to change the constitution willy nilly (as it has done) to further entrench its dominance.

When the 1/3 mark has been breached, then let's talk about quality of opposition candidates. Also voting in more opposition will put the PAP on its toes, forcing it to listen to the people more and be less self-serving and elitist in its policies.

Talking about duds, the vast majority of the PAP MPs are collecting their allowance every month and sleeping right through every Parliament session without contributing anything. Many of our current ministers and ministers of state first got into Parliament by hanging on to the coat-tails of a heavyweight minister in a GRC. The GRC system has over the past 3 decades resulted in a very mediocre administration. When we have the likes of LW, HSK, CCS, OYK and - God forbid - TCJ fighting to be head honcho, you know how bad it is. Give me Trump vs Biden any day.

Look at the MPs, mostly part timers, they are not better either, either absence from Parliament sessions, sleeping or shut their mouth, job hopping....
