Cleanliness went out of the window the moment the HDB gave into to PAP run CCCs to allow koptiam and shop owners to use the public pavement as an extension of their business from dirty plates to storing and displaying their goods. This was capture votes. Next they turned a blind eye to drying laundry, shoes racks, bicycles, on common areas. I remember visiting my staff on festive occasions over the years and you can see it getting worse and worse.

Or the Chinese in Geylang and the Vietnamese in Joo Chiat. Fuck! it is a disgrace to live in Singapore. Many of my foreigner are shock and appalled that the reputable clean garden Singapore is so dirty and the worse part is, they think it is the locals.

Geylang and Joo Chiat can never compete with Little India. Try driving around Little India after Sunday midnight.
