After a dispute between neighbors over whether or not to pave a street used by several families in the area, a thug said to be employed by the local government emptied a truck full of soil over her, burying her alive.

According to NetEase, the incident took place during the afternoon of October 2 in Fengqiu county, Henan province. Locals told reporters that as truck full of soil driven by Zhao Xuejie turned up to pave the street, villager Sun Qiuying sat down to block its way. After a heated discussion, a furious Zhao fired up the engine and unloaded the truck's contents over Sun.

Pictures obtained by the Legal Evening News show the aftermath of Zhao's actions. Sun was reportedly completely buried by the dirt for several minutes before her family members were able to dig her out by hand. She later passed out due to her injures and was rushed to hospital to receive medical treatment.

Neighbors in the area had been in conflict over whether or not to pave the street. Netizens claim that Zhao was hired by the local government and imply that he was hired to intimidate Sun to back down. The truck used was also allegedly in the possession of the local government at the time.

Zhao has since been issued a legal notice stating that he will be detained for 5 to 10 days and fined between 200 to 500 yuan for driving without a license. In response to the incident, village mayor Li told reporters that a police investigation was underway.

That's how they got rid of the undesirables during the Cultural Revolution. Being buried alive is far better than being sent to 're-education camps'.

I guess such practices are still prevalent in China's hick towns. ;)
