Vietnamese wife runs off before wedding dinner
OTHER NEWS & VIEWS
A MAN was devastated when his 20-year-old Vietnamese wife ran away 11 days before their wedding dinner in Teluk Intan, reported Sin Chew Daily.
The man, who only wanted to be known as Chen, said he and his pregnant wife had registered their marriage and they were staying together in Pahang since four months ago.
However, Chen received a call from his wife on Sept 3, and before they could talk further, a woman – who is believed to be also from Vietnam – grabbed the phone and informed Chen that his wife wanted to go back to Vietnam before hanging up.
When Chen tried to call back, the woman picked up the call and told Chen that his wife would call him once she reached Vietnam.
Chen could not locate his wife and was forced to cancel the wedding dinner and return the new bedroom furniture to the shop.
The distressed man hoped that his wife would meet him so that he could sort things out.
> A woman, who had an abortion when she was in her 20s, said she would not undergo the operation if she could turn back the clock, reported China Press.
The woman, who is in her 30s now, said she regretted making such a “cruel decision” about her own baby. “If I could turn back the clock, I will keep the baby no matter how hard it will take,” she said.
The daily had reported that women who wanted to terminate their pregnancies could undergo illegal abortions in some maternity clinics in Penang and the Klang Valley for a mere RM500.
