HANOI, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- A ship of the China Coast Guard (CCG) is paying a visit to Vietnam, the first of this kind to the Southeast Asian neighbor.
The CCG ship coded 46305 arrived Thursday at the port in Vietnam's northern city of Hai Phong, some 90 km east of capital Hanoi, on a three-day friendly visit.
The CCG ship was welcomed by the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) leaders. On Thursday afternoon, the two sides played sports games including volleyball, table tennis and tug of war among others.
Local citizens and representatives of Chinese enterprises in Vietam toured the ship on Friday.
According to the CCG, the visit is a part of the first meeting minute signed by coast guards of China and Vietnam on Aug. 26. It is also an activity to realize consensus reached by Chinese and Vietnamese prime ministers during the latter's tour to China in September, aiming to increase joint fishery patrols in the Beibu Gulf.
Over the past few years, the CCG and VCG have conducted joint maritime search and rescue exercises, personnel communication and law enforcement cooperation.
Prior to the visit, China and Vietnam just concluded a three-day joint patrol mission in a common fishing zone in the Beibu Gulf on Wednesday.
Coast guards from both sides completed a series of scheduled tasks, including a joint patrol, maritime search and rescue exercise, and examination of fishing boats.

PANO – The Vietnam Coast Guard Command and the Chinese Coast Guard Force concluded their three-day joint fishery patrol, the first time in 2017 and the 13th iteration of this kind, in the shared fishing grounds in the Gulf of Tonkin, from April 18 to 20.
Coast Guard Ship 8004 concludes sea patrol
Coast guards asked to strengthen political stance
There is an important comparison:
Vietnamese Coast Guard ship displacement 2000+ tons
Chinese Coast Guard ship displacement 12000+ tons
Factor for size/weight is about 6! Can not fuck around! Chinese top coast guard ships are larger and faster than most US navy cruisers! So Vietcong now LL Kowtow already.
The two sides sharing experiences
Two Vietnamese ships numbered 8003 and 8004, under Flotilla 101 of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command, led by Senior Colonel Tran Van Tho, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Coast Guard Region 1, and two Chinese ships numbered 3301 and 3304, headed by Liu Tianrong, Deputy Chief of the Nanhai Division of the Chinese Coast Guard, joined the patrol.
The joint patrol aimed to affirm the agreement on fishery cooperation in the Gulf of Tonkin, signed in 2000 by the two countries. It has also contributed to strengthening solidarity and friendship between the two countries, and enhancing effective cooperation in implementing the agreement on joint inspection regulations with China.
On this occasion, the two sides also shared experiences in fishing vessel management, search and rescue missions at sea, marine environmental protection, and maritime safety; disseminated laws and other regulations at sea to fishermen.
