[Vids] Funan Centre walk-through

Very bad interior design, bad feng shui...

Indeed, many pointed edges.

Rock wall climbing at B2. Food court and some eateries also at B2.

Level 7 has a rooftop garden, a futsal court and a 'Noka' restaurant. You either climb the outdoor stairs from level 4 or take the lift.

It is just another mall, what is the hype about? Soon many shops will close due to high rent and the place will become another white elephant turned into Little Myanmar hub selling nig nags & paddy wads.

Indeed. There's also the nostalgia of Funan itself... which has been around for a long time, possibly before some of us were even born.

As with every new mall, it's always fun to try and guess which will be the first retail casualty within the first year. My guess: one of the smaller eateries at B2, or those 'hipster' shops selling handcrafted(?) bags and clothes on one of the upper floors.

Side note: Nayuki tea shop and Hawker Chan have opened more and more outlets. 'Hawker Chan' (Liao Fan) has come a long way since obtaining the Michelin star award. There's even an outlet in Pattaya.

After 3 years, the place still looks the same, I thought it will be radically revamped.

I thought it's a little too radical now.

The rooftop garden and the ground floor bicycle track are for the millennial hipsters.

Rock climbing wall should have been from B2 all the way to Level 7. And no ropes allowed.

Reach the top get a free meal from Noka restaurant. Fall down, Roland Tay and his daughter standby 24/7 for new business.

Not all will perish .Some may survive the fall. Free bandages and slings!

I'm a bit disappointed by the lifts at the new Funan mall.

Would have preferred lifts with glass windows, so you can see what's outside and below.

If you like lifts with glass windows, go to Lucky Plaza. You may also get lucky.

To increase chance of getting lucky must go on sundays

I have seen a Pinoy girl giving out free condoms to passerbys.

Not sure if she's a condom promoter, a maid or inviting strangers to church.

Another passe pastime. Rebuilding malls to come up with the same thing. Another example is Jewel. Another bloodsucking costly bomb.

Funan was already owned by Capitamalls, they just refurbished it to make it more appealing to the millennial hipsters.

Jewel is just a pet project of the Changi Airport Group, which wasn't content to just let that space remain as an outdoor carpark. What it needs is free shuttle bus services, because it is 'out of the way', not unlike Great World City.
