據澎湃新聞6月3日消息，6月2日，甘肅蘭州，龍恩寺在建大佛工地起火，大佛外圍腳手架、防護網起火後火勢猛烈，大佛上方被濃煙籠罩。消防趕到後將火撲滅，無人員傷亡。
火災發生後，城關消防大隊迅速趕赴現場將明火撲滅，並和酒泉路派出所成立聯合調查組，對起火原因開展調查工作。
6月2日17時50分，現場處置完畢，火災無人員傷亡，消防部門統計過火面積約20平方米，
通過進行現場勘驗檢查、調查走訪，並連夜詢問相關責任人，查明該起火災系當日14時50分許，大樓施工方電焊工楊某(男，漢族，47歲)，在進行電焊施工作業過程中，未採取必要的防火安全措施，導致高溫熔化物跌落至該樓11層冷卻塔頂，點燃塔頂可燃材料引發火災。經連夜傳喚審查違法行為人楊某，該楊對上述事實供認不諱。同時，對火災發生後，為逃避責任追究，而故意實施破壞火災現場行為的人員凌某(男，漢族，33歲，)、沈某(男，漢族，30歲)、雷某(男，漢族，32歲)進行了依法傳喚審查。
