They got arabic version. Central asian version, turkiye.... Makes me wonder, just as spaghetti, if italians got the idea by trading with muslims via the port of venice.
It is just naan bread with flavour on top.

The indian muslim version is called roti prata. They are available with many variations of toppings and fillings. They can be made sweet or savory.
