The inferiority complex that Malays suffer north of the Causeway stems from Malaysian PMs who keep telling them that they lack the intellect and drive to ever compete on a level-playing field with the Chinese. Most Malaysian Chinese speak Malay fluently while almost none of the Malays are able to converse in Mandarin.
