Iraq was under Harsh US sanctions for decades resulting in hundreds of thousands of deaths when Saddam was in power.
And Syria, which used to be peaceful, was targeted in a regime change program by the US resulting in civil war and mayhem. Libya too. All targets of regime change.

Putin currently under similar plan of regime change.

US and UK does not want a creation of a United Pan Arab state. Supporting UK created monarchies only hope of this not occurring.
