Perhaps we Singaporeans can share with him on how he can overcome adversities in life......our founding and forefathers cried, such is no shame as we are only Humans and made of flesh, not of stone, BUT after the tears, we simply ROLLED UP our sleeves and got to plan and work to achieve our dreams....
1. Being a delivery man is an HONEST JOB. He did not rob or steal, but to provide an honest and dignified service to others.
2. It is NEVER TOO LATE for education in life. We all learn and must learn even DAILY to upgrade and evolve ourselves. Education does not end in Universities.
There WILL ALWAYS be 2nd chances in life, and if his interests are to get ahead and in education, it will be thru ONLINE education for him.
3A. It begins with a PLAN, to get ahead in life.
i)Start off with simple education in his interests such as science, finance, etc online as such sources DO provide fast and quick education even if one is ignorant before.
iii)After acquiring the basics, then apply to attend honest and legal physical classes which gives certifications which would qualify one for better jobs, and learning for him will be better served, as he had seen the dark side over such lack, than youths whom lived sheltered lives.
3B. The Plan.
a)Write down on a page, on what one seeks to achieve in life, at the TOP of the page, eg-house, car, start a family, etc, etc.
b)Write down on where one is at NOW, in a box at the BOTTOM of the page.
c)draw a line to the next box above the bottom box of where one will be in one years time, to reach the top, such as necessary time and SAVINGS to achieve the necessary qualifications to reach the next level.
d)Do the same for every level, or should failure ensued instead, then draw another box with another line on how to correct the mistakes made, to reach the next level.
No one, none, had ever reach the top of one's dream with just one simple step. Even those who buy lottery tickets need to wake up in the morning, to go to work to earn at least a few dollars to afford the tickets and queue up at the booth to buy the lucky ticket....
4. Never, EVER give up on the gift of life, no matter one's age or pressures faced. There WILL ALWAYS be choices. There are MANY proven pathways to success in honest jobs. It only takes time, dedication, sacrifices of lusts, etc, to achieve one's dream.
In a world where everyone holds a PhD, the garage mechanic will be king as he is the only one whom will get his hands dirty to repair their cars immediately while they are still figuring out solutions to issues with theories that may or may not materialize, and even if, will take months if not years to realize.
