Police have locked down a bakery in Rye on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria amid reports a man entered the shop with a firearm.
Shops have been evacuated and police are on the scene as an armed siege unfolds at the bakery near the intersection of Ozone Street and Point Nepean Road.
There are reports another person is still inside the shop.
At this early stage the incident is not believed to be terror related and police are working to establish if the parties are known to one another.
