Vice syndicates operating out of hotels and private apartments busted

SINGAPORE - A week-long operation launched on Aug 30 nabbed 409 suspects for various offences from illegal employment, unlicensed money-lending, soliciting in public places and illegal betting.

The sting, which lasted till early Saturday morning and involved enforcement checks at public entertainment outlets and massage establishments, busted four illegal gambling dens as well as two online vice syndicates operating out of hotels and private apartments.

A total of 78 males and 331 females between the ages of 15 to 82 were arrested. Investigations are ongoing, said police.
