SINGAPORE: A former senior veterinarian at the Singapore Zoological Gardens has been charged with four counts of molest.
Fifty-two-year-old Oh Soon Hock allegedly outraged the modesty of one of his ex-colleagues at their former workplace between January and March last year.
Oh was known to combine both Western veterinary practices and Chinese traditional medicine when treating animals at the zoo. Once, he even used acupuncture to treat a lame elephant.
Oh, who looked visibly worried as he appeared in court on Monday, is represented by lawyers, Shashi Nathan and Tania Chin.
Mr Nathan told the judge that his client has been assisting the police for more than a year and that Oh wishes to visit his daughter who is studying in Japan.
Oh was offered a bail of S$15,000 so he can visit her from December 22 to January 2.
The pre-trial conference for his case will be held on 10 January next year.
If convicted of molest, he can be jailed up to two years and fined for each charge.
