I think most of em never get cured, they die in the temple, thats why you never hear their story.

It's one's responsibility to seek treatment. Have another relative, refuse treatment, just pray and eventually got worst, seeked treatment too late and passed away. Both are suffering from nose cancer.

Who is going to tell their story if they survive Definitely not the doctors who stand to lose business if people go for an alternative treatment.

I know some survivors who are doing alternative treatment but they are just your everyday housewife & uncle.

I think all these depend on the patients, strikened by cancer. It also depends on his doctors. The patient is also influenced by his care-givers, his loved ones,his spouse and his relatives and friends - all with the good intention of helping him. Sometimes, it is very difficult to decide.

So nowadays, we have what we call Co-Management. The patient and the doctor co-manage his illness. No more the one way street.The doctor dictates and the patient follows. Of course, the patient must also be aware and be knowledgeable. He has to decide on the options given by his doctor. I think this is how it is going to be.

Some patients with cancer can refuse to be treated. They can seek Alternative Medicine. I don't think the doctors will stop him.The doctors I believe are good people and I don't think they are so money-minded to force the patients to adopt their modality of treatment. Unless the patient is a minor and the parents are ignorant and refuse treatment. The STATE can step in and force the child to be treated.( I think there was a case something like this where the State stepped in to treat the child with leukaemia...).

We have to weigh the pros and cons and seek the best course of action for the patient.

it not wise to think tcm can reverse cancer in short time.

think about it..
if you live an healthy life,enjoy drinking and smoking for 30 years.
strike with cancer.then you ask for herb and believed you can be cured from cancer within 3 months.
like this everybody also opt for this life.enjoy 30 years, take the herb, recovered.stupid.
think about taking another 30 healthy year to reverse back make sense.

Have about those that 'survived', wat about the relapse? these cancer 'success rates' do not take that into account relapse. If not the figures of 90% will seem to be fudge...I heard of the 90% that survive, 50% die after 5 years...

I have numerous friends who have been cured of cancer and some who have died.

The key to surviving is catching the disease at stage 1 or 2.

By the time it is diagnosed at stage 4, there is nothing much that can be done. Some opted for aggressive treatment. Some opted for no treatment and accepted that their time was up. Some opted for alternative treatment TCM included. None of them survived.

However, 90% of those I personally know who caught their cancers at stage 1/2 have been saved by Western methods and are clear of the disease after 5 years.

Had Steve Jobs opted for Western Medicine immediately, the outcome might have been a lot different. Instead, he mucked around with herbal remedies and special diets until it was too late and the cancer had spread to his liver.
