US Imam Who Claims To Be 'Active In Interfaith Community': Muslims Must Not Build Political Ties With Zionists

Imam Mazhar Mahmood of the Islamic Foundation of Peoria, IL, said in his August 8, 2025 Friday sermon that "alleged" Muslims suggest building "political situations" with the Zionists for the sake of stability, and he asked whether Muslims have "stooped so low." He prayed for Allah to liberate the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the "filth of the plundering Jews." Mahmood urged Muslims to understand their legacy and learn why the Prophet Muhammad expelled the Jews from Medina, telling a narrative from early Islamic days, of Jews harassing a Muslim woman.

Mahmood, originally from Toronto, Canada, is also president of Peoria for Palestine. On his website, he claims to be "active in the interfaith community".

Mazhar Mahmood: "Does anyone know why the Prophet kicked out the Jews from Medina – namely, Banu Qaynuqa – by their inception? Read history, my friends, understand what our legacy is.

Hey Mr Muhammed, 90% of muslims don't know all the differences you mentioned. You should educate your fellow believers to curb further violence on the innocent jews you mentioned.
