The New York City Police will deploy and track “harmless” gases in the city’s subway system over 3 days in July to investigate New York’s readiness to handle a chemical terrorist attack. The test will cost $3.4 million and will be carried out in all 5 boroughs and dozens of stations on 21 of the city's subway lines.
The federal government is preparing 3 major cities for a massive 10-day terrorism-response drills in the month of May. The 3 cities are Denver, CO., Portsmouth, N.H., and Washington, D.C.. In fact, Denver is hosting a marathon on May 19th. In Denver or Portsmouth, the planners declined to be specific as to what the drills will consist of. The authorities only say these cities will face either a simulated biological or a chemical weapons attack. However, It has been revealed that Washington D. C. will be the site of a radiological attack drill in which the possibilities could include a nuclear detonation, to an exposed container of radioactive material.
