I do not think PAP are doing this, i think opposition are shooting their own feet by over dramatic stories cook up in their imagination.

This cannot be an Opposition thing. It's too easy to find the truth. If this is indeed part of a larger tactic then it is most likely from the IB. The aim is to discredit the online media. Remember that the PAPpies are great at using a few bad examples and then creating policy to suit their needs. Case in point in when they first started withholding CPF from retirees. The policy was based on stories of retired Singaporeans depleting their entire CPF funds at Batam. It is common for PAPpies to use a few bad apples and then have the mainstream bark up their message for a few months and then the common man believes that it is a widespread problem when the truth is that probably less than 5% were that silly to spend all their reserves at Batam.

The discussion was ongoing and even the mod from the fan sub forum the victim in question went into the thread and invited ppl to go to irc channel to discuss the matter with them.

Would it suffice to organize vigilante justice and zap the offenders into oblivion? After all, the most frequent posters or those with high rep tend not to make factually false claims... with the exception of the occasional exaggeration or boasting. Even the venerable R****** does not run around making obviously false hoaxes.
