They might have been able to solve this case if they had regarded the parents as the motive (and hence to be interrogated), instead of the victims (and hence to be sympathised).

KNN actually there were also unleeported cases of murder that was unresolved till today that my uncle know of and victims are his acquaintance 2 cases KNN means there are actually more KNN
