Unlicensed Malaysian workers in Singapore - MOM and ICA please wake up!

Even bloody angmo also abused the no of stays given to them. Given 90 days but they worked part time with companies here.

Msians....they have been abusing the 60/90days ruling. They used the said priviledge to work in Spore. Now with the exchange rates to their benefits, more Msians will flock to Sinkieland to earn a living without permit.

Filippino and aust psychotherapists in singapore are also moonlighting as sex workers for the old grannies patients.

They even bring their tools and construction materials pass singapore customs without being stopped.

You forgot?, Cow$8 is from Penang & that Jamban Woman of Yishun too is from Malaysian, they once brought their tools & construction materials pass customs...& now they haunt us. Soon, we may even have a PM who, once took his or her 'tools' here from Malaysia!

Recently her baby Tee Land missed the boat and failed to bid for any land parcel in Singapore, except the former long house at Thomson road four years ago. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/new...place-for-en-bloc-sales-lawrence-wong-9931824

KNN not only Malaysians and don't assume all AMDK in Singapore are here for legitimate purposes

They swarm across the causeway every morning and go back in the evening. This has been happening for more than 30 years. It's hardly a new phenomenon.

All the reno work I did on my home was done by unlicensed workers. Had I insisted on work permit holders I would have had to pay double for the renovation work.

In ang mor lands. U use unlicensed renovators etc. Insurance won't cover. So u take the risk

There are plenty of unskilled workers in NZ who work below the minimum wage but as long as a licensed builder signs off the work there is no issue with insurance.

Yet more claims emerge against slippery Perth tradesman

February 10 2018 - 8:49AM

Consumers are once more being warned to watch out for an unregistered builder renovating Perth ceilings and bathrooms.

Mark Edward Straw, who may also be trading under the name Mark Edward James, trading as Complete Ceilings and Renovations, is the subject of fresh complaints to the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety.

He is accused of contractual and registration breaches including:

· demanding and receiving excessive deposits for home building work;

· demanding and accepting non-genuine progress payments;

· carrying out unregistered building work; and

· failing to pay subcontractors who have carried out work for him.

Mr Straw was prosecuted by Consumer Protection in March 2014 and by the Building Commissioner in December 2016 following warnings about his conduct in June 2013 and November 2015.

"Mr Straw is not a registered builder and is not entitled to carry out building work valued over $20,000," Building Commissioner Ken Bowron said.

"Consumers can conduct a registration check on our website before they engage the services of a builder.

"If the home building work is valued between $7500 and $500,000, the consumer should also familiarise themselves with the protections afforded to them under the Home Building Contracts Act.

"Under the Act, it is an offence for a builder to demand or receive a deposit in excess of 6.5 per cent of the total contract value; or to demand or receive progress payments for work that has not been carried out or goods not delivered to site.

"Mr Straw's conduct has been of ongoing concern to our Department and I strongly advise consumers, subcontractors and suppliers to exercise caution in their dealings with him."

Residential building work valued at more than $20,000 also requires home indemnity insurance to be in place before any work commences and for proof of that insurance to be provided to owners before any payments are demanded.
