There is an unconfirmed rumour that there are 30 cases of food poisoning among YOG volunteers. MOH is investigating. Caterer has been changed. Check it out here:

according to my friend working at the game village in ntu. they got spoiled food!!! when the rice and vege deliver to them all chaosng!!! all spoiled cannot eat!!! sometime not we dont want our singapore to be successful in holding the FIRST yog. its the organizing committee really cock up big time!!! concert without audiences, lavish accommodation for ioc people too lavish i mean, substandard food and no proper or enough rest place for volunteers and those working for the yog. planning only think about want to make this big and lavish, got all the ops plan and equipment purchase. but typical sg gov style, ignore the need of the people doing the ops on the ground. not humane at all!

i pity those policeman, most of them reservists! 14 to 16 hours to remain alert but not enough rest. according to those station at ritz carlton, their meals are provided by ritz carlton. all of u must be thinking, wah! ritz carlton sure not bad! lan chiao! really like shit! some more those on duty in the hotel not allow to bring in outside food! police force pay ritz carlton for the meal, but all fuck up! those station at marina bay sand media centre also got the same complains, no proper and enough rest place. food fuck up also! me also at ritz carlton, after all these shit. i dont think i want to go ritz carlton at all anymore. full of bad memories and negative vibe by those who work there for the yog.

There is no INTERNATIONAL PR disaster over YOG for the simple reason that the rest of the world has not even heard of the event.

Sinkies are free to publicise ALL YOG related disasters without having to worry about soiling Singapore's international reputation. Nobody else cares. The PR disaster is confined to Sinkie shores.

All the problems with organising, poor food, poor PR,...., shows lack of planning at the very top. A problem with the Spore system or rather the PAP brand

We already see many of the problems in Spore, such as lack of recreation, rest centres, over crowding, infrastructure failures,...

If you read the thread further, the YOG athelete buffet meals is $26 per head !

There is a lot of over provision so most of it have to buang by 3 am.

On the other side, those who volunteer or made to volunteer are give "dog" food or food which is spolit. sigh

Its elitism mentality at the planning level sadly. With that much of wastage, I pity the population whom are struggling to make ends meet or those in dire situations.

At that planning level, they already wanted the very best for the participants and officials while those who slogged at the ground level are treated no better than a slave/dog. They have no regard for the operational level; same wave length as the Pappies.

Those whom had served will remember the class segregation in NS in whichever service. During meal times, Men and Specialist in one area; officers and Senior specialist in another.

This is class breeding from young.

Goh Meng Seng why don't you as an opposition, now gather factual cockups, back with reports etc..of the YOG expenditure & cockups, & highlight the fact that the young volunteers wer treated shabily.
