multiple scenarios today, perhaps you guys could enlighten me.

I was at the metro station working the topup kiosk and I happen to overhear a group of young ladies behind me. they were going "this unc-more guy..." or something that sounds like that, and so on. I was confused at first, so I looked around and I was the only guy in the vicinity. then I thought, yea perhaps I'm an unc. hell I'm already 24.

then it happened again. I went to grab some food at a hawker centre. ordered and paid for my meal, as I walked off I overheard the lady receptionist repeat that same word just moments ago, to the cook. unc-more??? problem is this lady is probably twice my age. so clearly this had nothing to do with being an unc or looking like one.

is this the white equivalent of the n word here?

also, my partner is shocked at how the n word is thrown around so flippantly. again on the metro, a group of boys probably highschool students, casually flinging the n word about. in almost every sentence btw. my partner is black but she isn't offended, just shocked and speechless...

we still love Singapore, it's very safe and clean. the food is great! very very affordable and delicious
