UK elections: Boris it is, Tories get a majority
LONDON: The Conservatives have won an overall majority in the general election, passing the 326 threshold with seats still to declare, the BBC has reported.
The British broadcaster predicts that Boris Johnson (pic) will return as prime minister with a majority of 74.
The official exit poll projected the Conservatives would win a total of 368 seats. With 595 or parliament's 650 seats declared, the Conservatives have won 326, ITV said.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said he would not fight a future election.
The party lost seats across the North, Midlands and Wales in places which backed Brexit in 2016, BBC noted.
