IMMIGRANTS will go to the back of the housing queue under plans to head off a flood of new arrivals.

David Cameron is to change the law to ensure families who have lived here for years get top priority.

The PM will unveil a package of measures to stop Britain becoming a “soft touch” for migrants.

It will include tighter rules on access to health care, benefits, legal aid and other taxpayer-funded services.

Under new rules, councils will be forced to introduce a residency test when allocating homes.

Only those who have lived in the community for two to five years will be allowed on the waiting list.

This will stop someone from turning up and being given instant access to a council house.

A Whitehall source said: “We will stop people coming to get benefits without putting anything in.”

Mr Cameron will vow to change the system within MONTHS before the door is opened to 29 million Bulgarians and Romanians who get full EU rights in January.

Millions of Brits are stuck on council house waiting lists while migrants leapfrog them.

Mr Cameron is also to announce a crackdown on benefit and health tourism in a speech tomorrow.

There will be tough curbs on NHS treatment — to stop thousands flocking here for free ops.

A source said: “We want to be both fair and welcoming but not a soft touch.”

Rocketing immigration has already left schools, hospitals, police and housing at full stretch.

Mr Cameron has vowed to get net migration— currently at a 163,000 a year — below 100,000 by 2015.

Official estimates say 12,770 Bulgarians and Romanians will arrive each year but campaigners MigrationWatch UK say it will be nearer 50,000.

BEFORE this, they were spending tons of money housing even illegal immigrants in expensive big houses....................while the British people like disabled military people and their families were ignored and had to live in cramped little flats................i read the Dailymail daily so i know

don't forget, the Jews are behind the Western countries' mass influx of immigrants....................and Britain have been under Jewish rule for over 300 years.............

S'pore is doing the same becoz LKY and LHL are Jewish puppets.............

In policy proposals, Singapore mandarins always like to quote that this country does this and that country does that and Singapore has to benchmark against international and global best practices. Well, in UK and Australia, we now have international standards to be benchmarked against for the 'proper' control of immigrants so that their citizens do not get too enthusiastically 'xenoprobic'.

Beats me, why the lowly Singapore permanent secretary who is in charge of population policy, but has an annual salary higher that the British or Austrilian prime ministers could not even think of these simple solutions as per UK or Australia benchmarks? If he/she is too lazy or lacks the bandwidth, then for goodness sake, and for the sake of all Singaporeans, use these ang mo countries' policies as shown above as benchmarks.

You know and I know too, the buck does not stop at the permanent secretary level. By the way, what on earth is the minister doing? and so too, what on earth is the Singapore man supposedly blessed with the highest executive powers for governance, doing for the proper management of immigration?

What do you think?:eek::eek::eek:
