A husband accused of murdering his wife in their Liverpool home today appeared in court.
Emergency services were called to a flat in The Green in Stoneycroft, at around 4.55pm, on Thursday, November 25 this year.
Once officers and paramedics arrived at the scene they found 47-year-old Malak Adabzadeh, also known as Katy, dead.
A post-mortem examination found the mum, an Iranian woman, died as a result of “head trauma”.
Detectives have said lines of enquiry include whether her death “may have been for domestic or other cultural reasons”.
Mohammad Ureza Azizi, 57, of The Green, Stoneycroft was arrested and charged with her murder.
He appeared in the dock at Liverpool Crown Court this afternoon assisted by an Iranian interpreter.
Azizi, balding with dark hair and wearing a grey sweatshirt, spoke only to confirm his personal details….
