Typical knee-jerk approach from govt

This new rule from MOE is nothing but a knee jerk approach. It was done hastily, quickly, without any thought of repercussion or consequence. The first most important impact as what I have mentioned, is the child's safety.

The second important impact is that this now puts genuine bona fide PRs in a quandary. Not all PRs are here to free ride Singapore's "suka suka any Tom Dick and Harry can come" policy. Some of these PRs are highly valued. They carry with them skills Singapore needs. Are we not making it difficult for them to stay in Singapore, and worse, preventing future highly sought after skilled PRs from coming here? Don't you think these PRs have their children's safety in mind too?

Real issue must be addressed

The real issue at the crux of the matter appears to be the overflow of immigrants into Singapore, who hardly have any skills that we don't already have. In every developed country, the immigration policy is such that only people with skills required by the host country will be accepted.

Now is the time to enforce National Service on male PRs. But of course, this will be impossible. Foreigners only want to use our resources (public transport, public utilities etc) but not protect this nation.

Foreigners want us to be inclusive society. But when we want to include them in NS, they show us middle finger.
