Ten defence personnel have been airlifted to hospital after two tanks collided during an international military training exercise involving Australian and Singaporean forces

The collision unfolded near the Shoalwater Bay military training area near Rockhampton in central Queensland, on Tuesday night.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia paramedics were called to the scene around 8.30pm.

The spokeswoman said ten patients were airlifted by military helicopter to Rockhampton Airport, where they were then transported to hospital by road ambulance.

The patients are understood to have all suffered minor injuries and are currently in stable conditions, the Courier Mail reported.

Singapore’s Defence Ministry said in a statement late on Sept 24 that a Hunter Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFV) rear-ended another at about 7.40pm (local time) while moving back to base at the Shoalwater Bay Training Area. The training area is located in Queensland.

“Twelve SAF servicemen sustained non-serious injuries, and they have been transported to the hospital. They are currently being treated or recovering well,” the ministry said.

Basically, the major military exercises are a key KPI for the jiakliaobee SAF regulars. It's good for their careers if they participated in many of them, with objectives met and minimal cockups.
