Two arrested for illicit moneylending activites

THE police on Monday arrested a 62-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman for suspected involvement in loansharking activities in two separate cases.
The male suspect was arrested in the vicinity of Kitchener Road.
He is believed to have facilitated the business of a loanshark by carrying out bank transfers.
In the second case, the suspect was arrested in the Jurong West area.
She is believed to have given her automated teller machine card and personal identification number to loansharking syndicates.
The 62-year-old suspect will be charged in court on Tuesday.
Investigations involving the second suspect are ongoing.
