Is this what they call talent?

Friends know that i have just given up my iPhone for a Samsung Note. I have also switched telcos from M1 to Singtel. That was between two and three weeks ago. During this time, i was still holding on to my iPhone as i needed to empty whatever personal contents i had in there before i eventually sell or trade it off. So, for three weeks, i continued to use my iPhone line. Except for a few close friends and family members, i did not notify anyone else about my new line and the new number.

Now that i have almost cleared my iPhone of my personal contents, i tried to call a friend on my Samsung two days ago. Guess what!? I received a message that said i could not do so because ‘Conditional call forwarding active’ – whatever the hell that means. I tried a few more times before deciding to seek out some colleagues who are Samsung ‘experts’. Tried as hard as they did, they could not identify nor resolve the problem for me. Damn it! I can receive incoming calls but cannot make outgoing ones.

Left with no other options, I decided to call Singtel for help.

“Vhello, dis vis Svingtel and dis vis Daftjivat speaking. Howv may i hevlp vou”?, the voice at the other end twistedly answered. I explained the problem i was having with my phone. Daftjit asked a few questions to verify my personal particulars. Then he made me go through the phone settings with him. No success. He tried again, this time asking me to reboot the phone. Still no success.

He finally gave up and told me: “Vai have valready tried to solve vyour phone problame two times. You have to go to a Vhello shop to change der sim carrd”.

He reckoned my Sim card was faulty and i needed to have it changed. So that was what his talent could offer me. Never mind, i decided to go visit the Vhello shop the next day. This time i took half a day off from work to go to the Hello shop near where i live.

At 12pm, i approached the counter and the counter staff, a Pinoy this time, tended to me. I explained what the Singtel technician had done and what he had advised me to do. Without uttering a word, he went ahead to deactivate my Sim card and gave me a new one. The activation would take three hours and i was supposed to reinsert my new card after three hours. So i waited like a cuckoo bird for three hours and tried my phone after reinserting my Sim card. FAIL with a capital F.

It was raining quite heavily by this time. No choice. I dragged myself back to the shop. This time a Singaporean lady tended to me. I went through the same explanation while she fidgeted with my phone. Less than a minute later she handed the phone back to me and said it was ok now.

I was surprised and didn’t quite believe her. I made a call and indeed it worked. I asked her what the cause was and why the other two technicians could not do what she did? She explained that i couldn’t make outgoing calls because i had hidden my phone id. That was it?! I had hidden my id?

Now, how come our two talented aliens couldn’t do what a local could do? Are these aliens talented at all? We should trust our local talents more than the fake talented aliens.

FT really stupid SIM card problem can received incoming call but cannot make out going call.
Should fuck the Singtel and fire the technician on the phone.

nice story but then again it's not going to change the situation at all. Expect more fts to work in sg.

those are the best , most apr few words ive heard in a long time...

all nice stories, but then NOTHING CHANGES

one can only hope that karma will catch up with....

If my familee's actions are so honorable,
no need to get a lawyer to put a gag order on me
so that you can use your millions to keep suing me

Alot of people do not understand that those so call talents are used to serve more foreign Indians and Pinoys. They don't need to understand or speak to locals especially since the plan is for locals to be a minority by 2020.
