Transport Allowance - Is It Enough For Taxi?

Let's say you are only given a lump sum of "$250 to $300" each month as your transport allowance.
If you over spent it, you will have to come out the extra $$$ from your own pocket.

Your job requires you to go onsite customer's premises, carry heavy equipments and sometimes even need to work after office hours.
For those of you who take taxi frequently, do you think the lump sum of transport allowances is enough for you?

Mid you've traveled on the MTR in Hong Kong surely you'd noticed people making deliveries, construction contractors travel with their heavy tools with one of this trolley. Hongkongers had been used to this. Singaporeans definitely has it to easy going for them.



by the way if parents can travel MRT with children in pram so can anyone with a trolley

How about an electric tricycle. Tried pasting a picture of it here but it does not appear. You should be able to recoup the cost after 3 to 4 months & you will be pocketing the rest later. There are also foldable versions and best to charge it at your company sockets so it is free for you to run. You will also feel great knowing that it is your stingy employer who is paying for the electricity at commercial rates to run it.
