Train services on the North South Line between Marina Bay and Newton stations were disrupted for at least 25 minutes this evening as there was a "train fault" near Somerset station.
SMRT took to facebook to inform the public about the disruption and explained that they have deployed free bus bridging services between the stations affected in both directions.
SMRT first announced the disruption at 9:08pm saying that customers can expect delays for the next 25 minutes but later at 9:23pm, they updated that the trains would be delayed another 20 minutes.
Netizens on the SMRT facebook page have reported long delays and packed buses with some saying that the whole thing has caused them to be well over 30minutes late in getting home.

You know refurbished electronic goods aren't that durable, so what makes you think refurbished trains are?

spot on...that applies to the alstom trains in the NE and circle line too. the electronic cards used in the ATC systems are all refurbished one.

Your fault lah!...you demand more discounts, for elderly, for children for......you never pay more fares, so that, they can buy cheaper equipment to maximise profits. You never pay more fare, so that, they can employ more, 'past shelf life' SAF Personnels....
