Was train delay at Jurong East due to overcrowding?

STOMPer Rob wonders if it was because the train was overcrowded with passengers.

The STOMPer recounted:

“At around 8am, the east-bound train from Jurong East to Pasir Ris was overcrowded with passengers.

“There was a train delay but there were no announcements as to what caused the delay.

“Was it due to the fact that the train was overcrowded?”

Earlier this year, another STOMPer sent in a contribution in which commuters at Jurong East had to wait for several trains before they could get on one, due to overcrowding.

My friend tell me. Board the to west bound until pioneer/Joo Koon and the train will be empty at these 2 station. Then wait for the train to travel back to East at least have seat.
