She starts off as a chain manager, but she will easily make it as an executive in no time.

Tis is what they do at large organizations like Macs.

Before even graduating from her course in project and facilities management, she had two offers from quantity surveying firms.

NUS grad chooses to serve burgers instead of climbing corporate ladder

While the 27-year-old beams with pride when talking about her job, many people think otherwise, she says candidly.

"It's not something that people always think graduates should do

Her decision to join McDonald's full-time in March last year also raised eyebrows at home.

The job has taken her overseas - to the US city of Orlando for an international convention organised by the company, and to the Philippines for a restaurant leadership programme.

Waaaa.......she waste lots taxpayers monies to do Mac Don. It's a useless job designed for the Bagalas, Pinoys and PRCs. What is she thinking? Pengz.

The most impressive type is those who went from ite to poly to uni. But having a uni degree doesn't always guarantee success though.

I've met the guy who was featured in Lhl's speech many years ago - went on from ITE to become a Phd lecturer in a poly. Also worked with an IT consultant who went from primary 8 PSLE to O levels then poly and NUS. Very level headed and hardworking.

I really salute these survivors of the sinkie education streaming system.

This one is call 行行出状. No need to compete with her fellow graduates until face green green. Also good chance to climb up the ranks even if no extraordinary performance as long as no big screw up.

Not easy to find a career one like.

This is really a misleading report.

Such corporations have a special fast track schemes and their business philosophy requires new entrants to undergo shop-floor training. In the early years. They are never going to remain store managers. Their programmes requires fulfilling a rotation of duties including being posted to feedlots and other supplier location to understand the supply and quality dimensions.

Such reports do not educate locals and does a disservice to all.

Yes they send the high flyers to Hamburger University in Illinois. Apparently there's another campus in Shanghai.

Few people appreciate the business side of Macdonald's. They have one of the tightest supply chain management in the business. They have spent millions on automation and standardisation so that they can always hire from the pool of unskilled dropouts for rotating cheap labour.

Their placement strategy is also top notch. Which major mall in world doesn't have a Mac D that is crowded? Read on one of those chain emails that the CEO once asked students at the seminar: "what business is Macdonald's in?" Everyone answered "Burgers". He said "No. We are in the real estate business."
