Reliably brill indie mavens Jo Ng and Jinette Chittick lead Home’s hip young things into 2011 with an all-sorts bag of fun-filled electro disco, decades-exploring pop-rock and house party-indie anthemics ’til 4am.

The Crystal Ball: The New Year’s Eve Special with Daniel Wang (USA) The Rabbit Hole. 10pm. Free. ‘With the spirit of Karen Carpenter and Clara Rockmore guiding me, here come classical-reggae and nu acid-disco for 2011,’ announces this Berlin-based Ghostly International label star who heads up this ace New Year freebie with obscure, step-back-in-time Italo disco, funky, nostalgia-laced house and delightful forward-looking disco nouveau.

DISCO:VERY with Jeremy Boon + JNR + special guests Velvet Underground. Men & women $40, includes two drinks. An oh-so-sweet counter to Zouk’s trance-heavy antics, resident sophisticate funksmiths are joined by Funk Bastard, Ava Sakine, Aldan, Miss Mic and Kaye for some sweet-sounding roller-disco vibes and big-souled, ’70s and ’80s hand-me-down boogie-house candy to raise you up to the midnight boogaloo and beyond.

Doomph Tanjong Beach Club. 10pm. Free. Local groove-makers Matty Wainwright and Brendon P’s swinging, swaggering monthly party gets a heady New Year makeover with the disco explorers doling out mighty fine Italo grooves, throwback fidget-funk, soulful, sex-laced ’80s boogie and cutting-edge nu-disco for a glammed-up in-crowd on the beach.

Good Times New Year’s Eve Special Second floor, BluJaz Cafe. 9.30pm. Advance tickets $10 ([email protected]); on the door $15. The left-field-loving resident funmongers at this long-running alterno fiesta drop oodles of party-happy indie gems, jazz, neo-funk, deep, soulful house, and old- and new-school hip hop at this seriously wallet-friendly feel-good finale to the year-end. Plus live music from Sixx.

New Asia Countdown Party: Stonebridge (Sweden) New Asia Bar. 9pm. Men & women $40, includes one drink. With one of the most sought-after views of the city’s midnight firework spectacular, the Swedish dance maverick returns with his chi-chi, sun-laced house and big-hearted techno floor-shakers to take this non-stop, cool-looking crowd across the New Year threshold.

New Year’s Eve: DJ KFC OverEasy. 10pm. Head down to this buzzy, low-key waterside trendster watering hole for a photo-happy view of the fireworks, feelgood grooves from your resident beat dropper and all-night drinks deals. Minimum spend for advance table bookings.

Poplicious Central Square, Clarke Quay. 10pm. Clarke Quay explodes into a giant cheese-pop wonder for its student- and teen-favoured countdown party with America’s Got Talent star and YouTube phenom Derrick Berry headlining with his peculiarly convincing Britney Spears routine, alongside loads more razzle-dazzlement.

Siloso New Year’s Beach Party Siloso Beach, Sentosa. 6pm-6am. Advance tickets (until 20 Dec) $39, after $49. Sentosa’s epic, all-night beach spectacular returns with another grand edition of midnight pyromania, plus five non-stop party warrens to hop to. Café Del Mar pulls the hip scenesters with its low-key, downtempo grooves; Coastes brings the BBQ action and live Balearic-ambient rhythms; Azzura leans into more upbeat, dance-floor-rocking Ibiza-style hoodoo; while the main arena is where to catch all the unabashedly partytastic countdown surprises, with live stage shows a go-go. Plus, not forgetting, the now-infamous midnight foam pool. Dive in!

St. Regis New Year’s Eve Ball John Jacob Ballroom, St. Regis Hotel. 8pm. $425, includes seven-course meal. Swoon into the New Year in well-to-do decadence at this top-tier, talk-of-town society shindig, where a lavish Spanish-style dinner is served to the music of the resident 11-piece house orchestra. Zouk’s New Year’s Eve with Marco V (Netherlands) Zouk. 10pm. Men & women $40, includes two drinks. Clearly there are enough trance fans in town to give the Dutch trancemaster Zouk’s coveted New Year spot. But who are we to complain?
