1. Loof Bar
Located at the top of the Oden Towers complex, Loof is ideally positioned for watching the lights spring on across the city at dusk. Billed as Singapore’s first “standalone rooftop bar”, it’s heavy on the cocktails and high on style.

2. Mr Punch Restaurant and Wine Bar

A centrally-located Anglophone bar, Mr Punch offers a wide and dazzling view of the financial district’s glittering skyscrapers. Cocktails are good and come served surrounded by enjoyably-kitsch Anglo-American nostalgia. It’s also one of the best bars in the city for meeting expats.

3. Martini Bar, Raffles

A famous Singapore haunt, the Martini Bar offers excellent views over the nearby Palm Gardens. An oasis of calm away from the crashing bustle of the city, it’s one of the best places in Singapore to unwind with a cocktail.

4. Prelude

Located off the beaten track on the lip of the Singapore River, this unpretentious bar has a wonderful view and plenty of charm. The balcony is the perfect place to while away a slow evening, drinking delicious beer and watching the ferries shunt to-and-fro across the harbour.

5. 1-Altitude

The world’s highest al-fresco bar, 1-Altitude perches at the very top of Singapore’s third tallest skyscraper. The views are vertiginous, the clientele exclusive and the drinks are something special indeed. Be sure to dress smart.

6. New Asia Bar

A newcomer on the Singapore bar scene, the New Asia Bar has recently been voted one of “the 50 best bars in the world”. Cocktails and chic parties are the keywords here, and the view is a neon extravaganza.

7. CÉ LA VI SkyBar

Perched at the top of Tower 3 at the Marina Bay Sands, CÉ LA VI Skybar is perfect for those who like to party with a view. Beats and expensive cocktails are the order of the day, while romantics will appreciate seeing the city spread below them like a jewel.

8. Kinki

Sat above an exclusive restaurant, Kinki’s rooftop bar is all about melding attitude with a breath-taking cityscape. Punk and hip-hop influenced graffiti decorates the walls, while DJs spin an eclectic mix of tunes to keep the punters happy.

9. La Terraza

Squeezed in on the fifth floor of local venue The Screening Room, La Terraza is the place to go if you want to meet expats and quietly admire the beauty of Singapore’s Chinatown. Every so often, classic film screenings are organised on the Boutique Theatre; accompanied by hefty jugs of Hoegaarden beer.

10. Level 33

The World’s highest urban-craft brewery, Level 33 offers a night time glimpse into the heart of Singapore’s financial district alongside delicious locally brewed treats.

Dun drink too much!

It's bad for your health!

Stay sober and out of trouble!!!

My favourite pub is my downstairs coffee-shop. Sorry I am a poor man. But we have lots of bottled beers, good company and a few mei meis who sit with us.

Why are these places "top"? Is the beer there any different from the beers in other pubs? Besides booze at a reasonable place, the other things I look to in a pub/bar is a good view to a TV screen (for sports), funny videos. Anf friendly staff. I don't play darts or pool. And yes, a pinball machine. Another thing is a good rock or blues band/musician. Other than these, drinking beer is cheaper at a kopitiam.

Cheers!

This probably was just some (arbitrary?) listing, so geared to atas crowd or visitors.
Begs definition of "pubs" -for the pints either in suburbs, or in city down town (after work).
In suburbs like east and even HV -got the "buzz", with 1-1 all night for some places :p

Yeah, was just wondering how these pubs made it onto the "list?" What attracts you to a pub? Is it because it is classy? Definitely not me. If I go to a pub to drink, it has to be some reason other than being atas. I don't expect it to be very cheap, for that, I buy my beers from supermarket, and drink at home! Good music is another reason. Used to hangout at the old Beer Keller at Siglap, where Douglas Olivero played a one-man band and sang popular music. Liked especially his version of "Surangani" a popular Singhalese song, but his version was in Singlish and Malay! Very naughty song!

Cheers!
