SINGAPORE: President Tony Tan Keng Yam will be making a private overseas visit from September 26 to October 2.

A statement from the President's Office on Wednesday said Mr J Y Pillay, Chairman of the Council of Presidential Advisers, will exercise the functions of the office of the President on September 26 and during the period from September 28 to October 2.

Madam Halimah Yacob, Speaker of Parliament, will exercise the functions of the Office of the President on September 27.
