we have one of the best governments in the world
singapore is one of the best places to work, to live and to enjoy
we are a great city - clean, green and tidy
one of the safest cities in the world -
all thanks to our great governance
i doubt any oppo party can form any credible governance here
majulah singapura!!!

That's what the pap says too

Leongsam, count your blessings for the good life you are enjoying now and pray hard you'll never fall into the disadvantaged category just to understand how it's like.

My family will take care of me if that happens. That's what family is for. I don't need a government or some strangers to take over from what is a family responsibility to look after each other when the chips are down.

Leongsam, that's because most humans have conscience. If not, all would work for the Japanese as traitors during the japanese occupation. For those who sold their conscience for money, maybe they have to answer for it when they go to hell.

well said..thanks

To be an aussie pr, one has to stay on or the pr is at risk of being revoked. Sg pr can remain as pr even when they leave sg for decades. Hence, sg prs are better than Aussie prs as they can leave when conditions get unbearable and still fly back to enjoy the benefits when they feel like it.

SG citizenship has been abused by the pap

The best thing you can do for the disadvantaged is to give them a good kick in the backside. Spurs need to be stuck in their hides in order to help them re-learn the work ethic.

That's LKY's doctrine..nothing new

I would say most have a choice but are afraid to take it. Initially, my plan is to go Australia to find work. It's not easy because I do not have the skills. So I dig and dig and managed to find a simpler and cheaper way to go there. I keep my options open. I can move to Vietnam to open a small business also. My wife asked if that is risky. I told her, we are only 32 and 28, taking 2 years off and spending 30-50k is a risk we can afford to take. I love Singapore, this is my country. But there is something wrong with the way the country is run. We are 4th class citizens living in our own country.

Excellent analysis and thanks for sharing

We have one of the best populations of the world but many are leaving to benefit other countries. I used to speak up against people making this move. But after the passing of the White Paper, I think it is a lost cause. From now on, to each his own. I wouldn't be giving my two cents on this emigration issue. The PAP know the seriousness of this problem of people leaving but instead of arresting the problem at the root, they decide on a programme of replacement. It is as simple as that.

Today is the day I fight for our freedom.

I will tell my grandson that granddaddy when to Speaker corner this very day not for myself. I fight for them and their future.

Are you just going to remove only the 77 who voted for the White Paper? How about those who dared not turn up or who were too busy minding their own private business?

77 is the first target..they voted with the devil

They can take my life; but they will never take our freedom.

That's LKY's point again.

where is LKY now?

This sounds like Independence Day.

I agree with what you said.

The pap has no clue as to govern SG.

It always takes the easy way out of a problem..the path of least thinking

Today should be treated just like any other day. Singaporeans should take advantage of their prosperity created by the PAP to go shopping, buy some branded goods, shop for a new mobile phone, visit a car showroom or just hang out at one of the fantastic shopping centres built by the PAP for the benefit of all Singaporeans.

You have gone over the dark side...
