Yes, but the point is that CSJ should not have raised the question in the first place. He should have just sat this one out.

Who knows it might be good to have a level of "intransigence". That can be perceived as having resolute.

I agree with Overthecounter that we should not adopt a "Damned if you do damned if you don't" attitude, although it was partly SDP's own doing for trying to take both polar positions where this BE was concerned.

If you have no card on hand, I don't see why should anyone compromise. It the same everywhere.

If WP compromises unconditionally, people will start to question if WP will do the same in international politics when they become the gov one day.

So it also more of a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't for WP.

Couple of things

1) SDP remains a major opposition entity despite its recent conduct. 2016 is quite a long way. The are some quality candidates unless they leave for other parties or form a new entity. Chee ironically will remain an issue in his own right.

2) SDP fortune is not tied to WP and vice versa. If SDP and its supporters continue to focus on WP, it shows the lack of political acumen and inability to carve out or even understand what strategy means. A continuing worry for the last 20 years. Chee has to go or the good ones form a new vehicles.
