Tiong Bahru Market to close for 3 months from mid-April for upgrading​

At the entrance of Tiong Bahru Market, the pick-up/ drop-off point now comes with shelter and a ramp for barrier-free access.Photo was taken on 4 September 2023 on Road repurposing works in Tiong Bahru. A covered linkway that links Tiong Bahru Market to Havelock MRT station is slated to be ready by the end of the year. Senior Minister of State for Transport Amy Khor said that is among the additional improvements to come for the Tiong Bahru area, where road repurposing works to improve the pedestrian and commuting experience have been completed. The LTA will work with communities in Tiong Bahru and Kampung Admiralty - where similar repurposing works have been done - to conduct placemaking activities for both areas, she said
 
On a related note, Albert hawker centre also closed for renovation. Similar time period.

Expect your makan prices to increase after reopening, and a few stalls to say 'fuck it' and quit for good. :cool:
