The teacher that allegedly installed three secret pinhole cameras in a school female toilet has been charged in court.

According to reports, Yan Wen Xia, 37, had allegedly installed pinhole cameras in the fourth floor female toilet of Yu Hua Secondary School, located in Jurong West.

One of the pinhole cameras was later discovered by a female student using the toilet.

The student immediately brought the camera to the school's attention. A staff member searched the toilet and found two more such cameras.

On top of the secret cameras, Yan has also been charged with stealing three SD memory cards from the school operation manager's office at 1pm on 15 Feb.

He now faces four charges, three for trespassing into the female toilet with intent to insult the modesty of users, and one for theft.

If found guilty of the first three charges, Yan faces a jail term of 3 months, and a fine of up to $1,500, or both, on each charge.

If found gulity of theft, he faces a jail term of 3 years, or a fine, or both.
